Today is the sixth annual Giving Tuesday, the unofficial beginning of the year-end charitable giving season. Powered by social media and collaboration, Giving Tuesday gifts increased 40% in 2016 over 2015 and experts expect another record breaking day today. #GivingTuesday is already trending on Twitter and Facebook this morning.

Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will be matching up to $2 million of funds raised on Facebook for US nonprofits. Facebook is also waiving its fees for donations made to nonprofits on Facebook this #GivingTuesday.
