“Behold, I am doing a new thing, and now it springs up!
Do you not perceive it?”
Today is the last time I will be writing to you as the President and CEO of the National Catholic Development Conference. On behalf of all those who served as members of the Board of Directors during our fifty-year history as an association, I want to thank you for your involvement in NCDC.
The Nonprofit Alliance (TNPA) has asked me to work for them for the next several months as “Advisor, Catholic Development Council” of TNPA. I have accepted this position because I believe it is the best way I can be of service to the Catholic fundraising community. I also hope that all those with a relationship with NCDC recognize this position as an investment by TNPA in the Catholic fundraising community. TNPA values our community’s participation in their organization and TNPA believes we have an important place and role to play in the larger nonprofit sector. I cannot encourage you enough to stay engaged and give this “something new” a chance to “spring up.”
The “Catholic Development Council” is an arm or a branch of the larger TNPA umbrella group. This council will have its own advisory group, representation on the TNPA Board of Directors, set an annual engagement calendar specific to itself, and create a budget to sustain its own specific activities. My job will be to work with Shannon McCracken, TNPA’s CEO, to put all of these things in place and to keep all of you informed during this process.
