6 Ways to Get the Most out of the NCDC Conference

The annual NCDC Conference and Exposition offers Catholic fundraisers the opportunity to connect with one another while learning the latest techniques in fundraising. Whether it’s your first time at the conference, or you’ve been coming for years, there’s always something new to discover. Here are six ways to make the most of your conference experience.

Create a conference learning plan

Use the Personalized Schedule tool on our website to set some goals for yourself and choose sessions that will help you meet those goals. The conference program is a well-balanced mix of general sessions, breakout sessions, and discussion groups – all designed to help you grow your mission. You can choose to stay in one track or move from track to track. All the sessions are open.

Bring plenty of business cards

You won’t want to run out of business cards! Our conference brings together development directors, executives, department directors, and staff from religious organizations from around the United States and the world. Take the opportunity to build your network and share contact information with others who share your ministry. Stay in touch with your new connections after the conference by email, phone, and social media.

Plus, use your business cards to enter prize drawings throughout the conference!

Attend social events and don’t be shy

We all share in the same ministry; join us as we gather to learn from one another. The NCDC Conference offers a lot of different opportunities to meet and get to know your fellow attendees. Introduce yourself to other attendees, attend social events, and chat with people during meals. Take advantage of being with people who understand the unique challenges facing Catholic fundraisers.

Visit the Exhibition Hall

Don’t forget to check out the exhibit hall! With top service providers in the field, who have decades of experience working with Catholic organizations, you’re sure to make worthwhile connections. Before arriving, familiarize yourself with our list of exhibitors, and get to know all the exciting things they have to offer.

Take notes and share what you’ve learned

Take your new network back to your office and continue to keep your finger on the pulse of Catholic fundraising throughout the year. Talk about the sessions you attended and strategize how to best use your new-found knowledge, tips, and techniques in your ministry. Nine out of ten previous attendees learned something to immediately use in their office.

Celebrate our shared ministry of fundraising

The NCDC Conference is the only national conference that puts fundraising in the context of ministry. You know when you’re in a session at the NCDC Conference that everybody in the room is facing the same challenges and looking for the top methods to support their mission.

Enjoy the time to gather as a community to celebrate our shared ministry and together advance our missions!
